For the last few years I've been doing a lot of Digital Video stuff, especially CatDV...
I haven't done much on this site for ages, though Ann Marie's pages are a bit more up to date. The only thing I've added recently are some notes on switching from Mac to Windows, kind of an anti-switcher's guide, and a brief comparison of one or two digital cameras.
Previously, things round were quite eventful, as you can see by reading about our flood or by taking a look at Matthew's page or our wedding. Fortunately things have calmed down since then!
Looking for accommodation in Bournemouth, Dorset? Try my mum's comfortable bed & breakfast.
For the last few years I've been doing quite a lot with Java. Most of this work has involved developing serious business applications in Java, as opposed to 'gimmicky' applets, which isn't to say Java doesn't have its fun side too. You might like to look at my colour wheel applet that is useful for selecting colours for web pages, for example. For this and more (including some handy Perl utilities), take a look at my software download page.
At home I have several Macs and a PC running Linux (no Windows software on it, thankfully), though I don't get to use either as much as I used to these days. If you run Unix but want a more user friendly way of browsing man pages then you might want to look at manServer. Try it out here.
How about a picture of my first computer, a home brewed Z80 system I built in 1980 that first lived in an old wooden wine crate? That was back in the days when computers called Orac really looked like computers called Orac... Other pictures, getting on a bit now, are in my picture gallery.
