Exporting movies and web pages

With CatDV you can easily export selected clips, or selections within clips, as a movie. You can use any of the many codecs supported by QuickTime, including MPEG-4 and H.264, and you can create both small reference movies or self-contained flattened movies. Under batch options you can choose whether to export a separate movie for each clip or concatenate them into one movie.

Another command lets you export selected clips as an HTML catalog. CatDV will create an index page containing thumbnails and the columns you choose, with optional links to a detail page for each clip or a link to the media file.

You can use these features together, for example to create a standalone catalog of stock footage (with an embedded copyright message if you like) that you can distribute to clients and that they can view with a standard web browser.
