Clip details windowIn the clip details window you can see all the information stored for a particular clip. You can play the clip, type in comments or other fields to describe the clip, and choose a thumbnail to represent the clip. When you play the clip you can make a selection by marking In and Out points. You can then create a new secondary clip from the selection, or split a clip into two. (You can also do the opposite and merge two clips together, if a scene boundary was misidentified for example.) The main fields you use most often for entering log notes are at the top of the window, while the detail table below shows all the other possible attributes of a clip. Of these there can be any number, depending on the type of clip and how you configure your system. Those fields which are editable are indicated with a lighter background. With the Professional Edition you can create an unlimited number of user-defined fields, which you can use for any purpose you choose, for example to record the videographer, project, location, shot and take number, or editor. There can also be a variety of media metadata fields, depending on the type of the file. For a still image you might have Exif metadata fields giving the camera exposure details, for a Windows Media file there might be title and copyright information, and so on. |
