Thumbnail view and grouping mode

You can view and organise the clips in a catalog in different ways. The previous page showed a default list view with rows of data. You can also view the clips as a grid of thumbnails.

You can customise a grid view by choosing the thumbnail size and whether to show any text fields alongside the thumbnail. You can then save your customised view configurations and they appear in a drop down box in the toolbar. (In this example "Medium icons" is selected.)

The grouping panel on the left of the window can be used to quickly locate clips of a particular type. Pick any grouping field, such as tape, date, or file type, and you can see all the distinct values of that field. Click on a value (a date in this case) and you see all the clips that were shot on that date, but you can do the same for any field to instantly organise your clips however you want them.

Common grouping fields include file format, tape name, folder name, audio sample rate, and so on, but you can also create your own user-defined fields and use these for grouping.
