Ordering the main list

You can order the methods in the main list in one of several ways: by the methods total or own time, by the count of how often it is called, and by its short name (just the class and method) or by the fully-qualified package and class name. Use the "View" menu to control how the list is presented.

Filtering methods

Use the "Apply filter" command to bring up the filter dialog. Only those methods matching the filter criteria are shown in the main window. You can list up to three packages or class names which are either listed or excluded.

Other features

You can resize both the window as a whole and adjust the relative sizes of the different panes. This is useful when displaying long method names.

You can also display a tree view and heap dump from the View menu (for details see subsequent topics).
