The most obvious reason why this message might be displayed is that your movies were corrupted somehow during capture, in which case using them can lead to audio synch problems. Another possible cause is that you are using a Canon camcorder which doesn't lock the audio and video sample rates and so might give a spurious warning. Finally, there was a problem with early releases of CatDV that sometimes caused this message to appear when it shouldn't have. Upgrade to the latest version and if you still get warnings but you are sure your clips are ok then you can disable the check under the Import options tab of the Preferences dialog.
