Question

All my OUT points are out by one frame.

Answer

There are two ways of displaying the OUT point of a clip, as the timecode value of the last frame in the clip or as the last frame plus one.

CatDV normally uses the "last frame plus one" convention (as used by Avid and Cinestream, amongst others). The advantage of this way of working is that you can calculate the duration of a clip by subtracting OUT-IN. Also, the OUT point of one clip equals the IN point of the next.

CatDV supports both conventions however. When importing and exporting clips CatDV will normally add or subtract one from the OUT point automatically, as required, depending on the format. If you prefer to display the last frame of the clip in a list view or when exporting a list of clips, customise your view and select the "Out (incl.)" column instead of "Out".
