Question

When I try to run CatDV I get an error saying that "QuickTime for Java" is missing (Windows)

Answer

Make sure you install QuickTime from www.apple.com/quicktime web site, and select a "Custom" installation to include the core components plus "QuickTime for Java". (Contrary to its name, a "Full" installation is not sufficient.) Under Windows you should install Java first, before QuickTime for Java. If you still get this message after re-running the QuickTime installer and restarting your computer it's possible you have more than one Java installation on your machine and the QuickTime installer is picking up the "wrong" one.
