Cryptic error messages like those above might be displayed in a variety of circumstances, such as bugs in the application (especially in beta versions), a broken installation, or attempting to open a corrupt catalog or movie file. Although you can find lists of QuickTime error numbers such as -2010, by themselves the error messages usually don't reveal much. When reporting bugs (see How do I report bugs in CatDV?) it is important therefore to provide as much information as you can about the steps you went through leading up to the error, and if possible to provide copies of the files you were working on at the time, especially the error log written by CatDV as this usually provides more details on the precise location of the error.
