Question

Can I install extra codecs to play other media formats?

Answer

CatDV uses QuickTime plugins and there are various ways to install additional codecs beyond the core support for MOV, MPEG-1, MPEG-4, DV, and AVI files, among others, provided in QuickTime itself. Some of these 3rd party codecs are only available far Mac OS X.
