Question

I get "Failed to launch java.lang.UnsatisfieldLinkError: defineClass" whenever I try to launch CatDV (or Live Capture Plus or the Worker) under Mac OS X

Answer

There are several things to try if the program fails to launch:

Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the software
Select the application in the Finder and do Get Info, then check the "Open in 32-bit mode" box
Use Mac OS X Software Update and update your Java installation
Open Applications > Utilities > Java > Java Preferences and move "J2SE 5.0 32-bit" to the top of the Java application version list.
