There was a bug in Live Capture that caused -47 errors to occur under some versions of Windows. This bug has now been fixed - please download CatDV 4.1.1 or later.

If updating the application doesn't fix the error then another possibility is that you are trying to capture to a certain types of network volume which may not be supported under QuickTime, in which case a workaround is to capture locally. In Preferences, change the preview directory you are capturing to to a location on your local hard drive.

If you capture to a local drive you can still use previews on a shared network volume though. Under the 'Media paths' Preferences section, set up Additional Previews by pressing the "+" button and selecting the remote preview directory. After capturing and creating the preview locally, move the tape directory from your local preview directory to the shared one.

CatDV uses the directories in the Additional Previews setting as a search path so you can have several repositories of preview files on your network.
