Expiry Warnings

At the end of 2004, some of you may have noticed warnings displayed by CatDV saying that the application will soon expire, or has already expired. This is due to a date-based check for beta releases with the wrong expiry date set being inadvertently left in some released versions of the code.

Different versions are affected in different ways, so please check which version of the software you are using from the About CatDV window and follow the appropriate instructions below:

Users of CatDV 3.0/CatDV Pro 3.0

If you are using one of versions 3.0.0 through 3.0.9 this has a fixed expiry at the end of December 2004. You need to upgrade to the latest release which is 3.0.10. 3.0.10 is a free update for registered users of 3.0.x.

Users of CatDV Pro Workgroup Server

Old versions of the server an earlier had a fixed expiry of December 15, 2004. Please contact sales@squarebox.co.uk for version 3.0.4 of the server software that avoids this problem.

Users of CatDV 2.5

This has a fixed expiry date at the end of December 2004. If you are still using CatDV 2.5.10 please contact sales@squarebox.co.uk with details of your registration code for further information. (The registration code is displayed in the About window and also in the Registration tab of the Preferences.)

Users of CatDV 2.0 and earlier

Earlier versions of CatDV do not suffer from this expiry issue and so you should be unaffected. However, you may want to consider upgrading to CatDV 7.0 for the many new features offered by that version.
